Running (4hr rogaine) 3:58:00 [3] 32.0 km (7:26 / km)
At Googong Dam. Ran with Tom Brazier who's been on fire in some of the longer distance trail running races around the place recently. Cracking sunny day after a very cold night, so we were crunching through frost and ice early on. Course was essentially 3 limbs, so we opted to do the 2 longer ones and see if we had time for the 3rd. The northern limb was very fast and open with plenty of tracks, so didn't take too long. The eastern limb was much bushier and hilly, with a couple of bingo controls chucked in. That slowed us down to the extent that we had to end up beelining for the finish much earlier than planned. Fortunately just managed to pip Dave and Prong who'd done a very different route.
Overall pleasantly surprised with how I shaped up: got a bit stiff but no problems keeping running for so long. Plenty to natter about as we ran too, so the time flew by. I think we were quite well matched - Tom having had a virus during the week probably helped that!
