Orienteering 40:00 [3] 3.0 km (13:20 / km)

Planned an o-training at Honeysuckle North. Was real rough though, as in impenetrable, so ended up having to bail. Shame must've been a cracker map back in the day but hard to see it being usable for a while now.

Running 50:00 [3] 11.0 km (4:33 / km)

So ended up running on some trails for a while instead. Pleased that I did keep going for a reasonable length run, as it was tempting to traipse back to the car in a boo.

Running 1:33:00 [3] 19.5 km (4:46 / km)

Long run with Dr Shepherd from his place and south on the centenary trail around Cooleman and back. Managed to natter most of the way while keeping up a reasonable pace, so the time flew by. Pretty nice day and quite humid: wish I had something I could compare the humidity to.

Running 48:00 [3] 10.0 km (4:48 / km)

Fairly gentle morning run on Davo.

7 AM

Running 40:00 [3] 8.0 km (5:00 / km)

Morning drizzly run on Red Hill.
6 PM

Running intervals 30:00 [5] 7.5 km (4:00 / km)

6x5mins on trails around Mugga and the Brae. A bit tired but not too bad - stretch class at lunch probably helped.

Running 30:00 [2] 5.5 km (5:27 / km)

10min warm-up, 2min recoveries, 10min warm-down.

Running 38:00 [3] 8.0 km (4:45 / km)

Morning jog up Davo - bucketing down when I got up, so donned the windproof, but it had stopped by the time I got outside.
6 PM

Orienteering 49:00 [3] 9.0 km (5:27 / km)

One thing I learned from the weekend was that I should do more technique training, so thought I'd head along to one of Lukas' post twilight series training sessions. Today was traffic lighting on Black Mt north. Went pretty well, but it was quite easy. Found myself on 'green' for most of the course, with the knowledge of being so making me look at the map less than I normally would and so doing a few slight bananas. Re-ran the course again on 'red', which was rather artificial in such featureless terrain. Still, good fun, and good to do some thinking while running in terrain.

Running 22:30 [5] 7.0 km (3:13 / km)

7x1km round the East Basin mainly. All in 3.09-3.15, so a bit slower than end of last year, which I guess isn't that surprising. Good tough session though.

Running warm up/down 38:30 [2] 7.2 km (5:21 / km)

12min warm-up, 1.10min recoveries, 17min warm-down. Found out I can take the 'acting' off the front of my job title today, which is nice.

6 PM

Running 55:00 [3] 12.0 km (4:35 / km)

Rainy run on what will soon be my new stomping ground: up Mount Taylor and around Farrer Ridge. Feeling reasonably fresh.
