Nostalgia event on Mount Majura/Ainslie using a black and white hand-drawn map from 1971. Scary that if I think back to when I started orienteering (in 1992), it's only that length of time again since they were running on maps like that. Hard to say if the terrain has changed much, because there wasn't really very much on the map to compare with. The nostalgia was completed by bringing back pin punches - oh no, that's normal. Anyway, bit of a lump in my throat so only cruising today. Quite enjoyed it despite overshooting #1 by 1km. That put me back about 10mins, but meanwhile Rob had been up Majura and back to relocate looking for #2, so I caught him a couple of mins at #2. He got away over the rest of the course though to beat me by about 1min.

Ran from Kambah Pool, along the Murrumbidgee Gorge to Pine Island, then back over Urambi Hill. Cracking run - nice path and some great views - gonna do this one again some day. Felt pretty normal and didn't overly push.

Went to Cooleman Ridge for the first time - lovely late afternoon sunshine. Also seemed like potentially good for orienteering with a good number of sizable boulders. Felt good running but couldn't be bothered doing anything longer. Definitely need to find a purpose for this year running wise!

Decent hit out on roads round Deakin, Yarralumla and back round the lake (a bit dark, but manageable). Felt good - not really sure what I'm training for at the moment though since next proper o-race isn't til August.

Another headtorchy run up on Red Hill and Davidson - cold night but nice and clear. Legs felt pretty much recovered, although I never got above 'cruise' and into 'honest' territory.
