Running 1:47:00 [3] 22.0 km (4:52 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 X-talon 212

Long run from Frost Hollow west along the edges of the nature reserves, then back over the Pinnacle, Mt Painter, Aranda and Black Mountain. Quite a hilly run and, despite the greyness and low-20s temperature, got reasonably warm and even went topless for a short section (very humid). Felt a bit stale still, but kept a decent tempo going ok. Saw a big echidna at the underpass into Blackie and stopped to watch him for a while. Also found a couple of lost lads with a black and white map looking for a checkpoint of some kind on the circumcision path - pointed them in the right direction, then as I ran off had a think about how they will never know how lucky they were to ask me for directions.

Back in Canberra - jeez it's like is not stopped raining the whole time I've been away. It carried on raining heavily through the duration of this run, which I kind of enjoyed. I took Grace's map of the Griffith street-o and ran that reasonably hard. Felt a bit stale after a fairly empty week training-wise (and full week food-wise). Surprised to see 10 or 11 free peacocks in Rocky Knob Park.

Note
(rest day)

Another hectic morning of work, but at least I was able to make more of the business class facilities on the flight back to Canberra. Bye bye sunshine.

Note
(rest day)

Big day of work today so no time for running, but we did head to Cottesloe (by the beach) for a couple of beers on the veranda as the sun set over the ocean - magic.

Headed north away from the CBD to see what some of the burbs looked like - nothing special, lots of Scottish street names and a kilt shop.

Bright and early flight(s) from Hobart to Perth for a week of work in WA. Business class flights of course. It wasn't all beer and skittles though, as I had work to do on the plane. Anyway, after touching down and heading to the hotel and doing more work, I had a couple of hours free while my boss caught up on some sleep, so I headed out east past the WACA and over the swan river before looping back to Northbridge. Awesome place, lovely river, really hot and sunny. Had to work til pretty late in the evening but pretty cool that I travel to places like this with work.
