Orienteering race (Haslingden Grane Regional) 1:15:18 [4]
shoes: adidas swoops

Bloody tough beastie out near Blackburn. Endless tussocks, climb, fences and walls. Not particularly difficult, but some good route choices and a quality bit of quarries which was mapped quite vaguely but worked well at the 1:15000 scale. I felt crap right from the off which would have been partly due to the terrain but also due to chronic rustiness which has set in due to lack of running. The aim fairly on became to just "get round" and to "keep running". Caught Chris Mitchell early on, but he was running strongly and I didn't get away til right at the end. Gracie ran against me and punished my only real mistake by taking a better route and beat me on the split.

Study study study (plus coffee with Gracie, and Baker popped round for a chat). I am going orienteering tomorrow though :o)

Running 45:00 [3]
shoes: adidas swoops

Actually went for a run! (I made the time for it by doing a couple of hours study before work). Drove out to Thorner and ran to Barwick-in-Elmet which was a lovely village with an iron-age hill fort and some earthworks. Nice evening. Felt rough for the first half but not too bad for the second.

Running 29:00 [4]
shoes: Asics Trabuco

Shadders and the park. I've got a reverse cold which has started with a sniffle and ended with a sore throat so it's still dragging on.
