Note
(rest day)

Not quite as nice a day. Was gonna walk up Tryfan but just not worth it in the rain/drizzle/mist - more like the Wales I know. Had a little walk round another castle and played with some lambs. I wasn't allowed lamb pie for dinner so I had a beef pie instead hehe. Sun came out very late evening and we could at least look at the mountain we would have gone up.

Running 1:00:00 [2] 6.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Nike Air Zoom Vomero +2

Late evening jog with Gracie from Llandudno round Great Ormes head. Cracker day looking at Conwy and Caernarfon castles, eating chips and ice creams. I was very ashamed to get sunburned. Bit windy on top of the hill but nice views all round.

Running long 2:27:00 [3] 20.5 mi (7:10 / mi)
shoes: Nike Air Zoom Vomero +2

I just couldn't resist getting it up to 100 big ones in 6 days. Legs quite achey but coped ok and had plenty of stops for jelly babies and powerade. Quite a nice long road run with plenty of lambs, llamas and lapwings to look at. The funny thing is that it turns out that I'm not starting work til a week on Monday now. Oh well, nice to see what my legs could cope with. Fell asleep in the bath when I got home.

Running long 2:05:00 [3] 16.5 mi (7:35 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Pivot

Oli rather cruelly invited me out for a long run today. It was alright in the end though. Quads better than before, calves a lot worse though. Chatting all the way but I was saying less and less by the end and praying for it to be over by the time we hit Hillsborough. Wharncliffe and Greno are quite nice to run through (on paths) this time of year. Got fairly warm too. Came home and ate a pack of Cheddars in the bath :o) Hillsborough, Beeley, Wharncliffe, Greno, the ramp, home...

Running 1:46:00 [3] 14.0 mi (7:34 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Pivot

Parkwood Springs, some nice valley, Northern General, Firth Park, Wancobink (gorgeous area, needs mapping), Meadowhall, Airport. Met Gracie at subway and she gave me a hot dog. Yummo. Then carried on round Tinsley golf course and back through Darnall and Attercliffe. I've already run today but I'm still going to go to Beeley and I'm not a divvy. Or maybe I am.

Orienteering 37:00 [2] 3.0 mi (12:20 / mi)
shoes: jalas o-shoes

A very steady cruise round a short course at Beeley. Switched off a few times and made some silly mistakes. Still, it was nice to be out in amongst the bluebells with the sun shining (at times when I wasn't amongst the brambles and it was raining).

Note

I just got on telly in the background behind Steve Ryder at the snooker :o)

Running long 2:10:00 [3] 16.5 mi (7:53 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Pivot

Hunters Bar, Porter Brook, Ringinglow, Burbage Edge, Roman Road, Limb Valley, Eccy Woods... Not too tired but calves and quads achey as hell. Got home and was able to empathise with what Dino's been going through for the past 10 years.

Running long 2:05:00 [3] 15.5 mi (8:04 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Pivot

Quads are pretty wrecked from yesterday, but I ain't messin about this week cos I'm starting a career next week... Loxley Common, Bradfield(s), Damflask, Dungworth, Rivelin. Didn't feel at all tired but had to go very gingerly downhill and over stiles - I think it must have been the downhill through town yesterday that did it.
