Running long 2:05:00 [3] 15.5 mi (8:04 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia Pivot

Quads are pretty wrecked from yesterday, but I ain't messin about this week cos I'm starting a career next week... Loxley Common, Bradfield(s), Damflask, Dungworth, Rivelin. Didn't feel at all tired but had to go very gingerly downhill and over stiles - I think it must have been the downhill through town yesterday that did it.

Running race (Sheffield Half Marathon) 1:13:08 [5] 13.1 mi (5:35 / mi)
shoes: Nike Air Zoom Vomero +2

Still had the sore throat, but decided to run anyway and although I could tell it was there at first, I soon forgot about it. Main problem was that I forgot about the tram and decided to drive and the traffic was shocking so I didn't get to do a warm-up. Oh well, happy to just rock up and run 73 and get 10th (over 5000 ran). Never saw any mile markers so pacing and splits went out of the window. Got in a good tussle with a pack and kept shifting from 7th-14th during the race. And the support was great - kept seeing people I knew by the side of the road. Won't claim points for them though. Legs seized up at the end and I dropped 3 places. Didn't realise how far round the stadium the course went, so I thought I was on for sub-70, so a bit disappointed at the end. Reckon it would be doable if I decided I wanted to devote myself to road racing (I don't, this was my first). In the end, happy, and relieved to beat Sprotty (74.48) who ran a blinder. Grace was on fire - I hadn't even started looking for her when I noticed that she'd already finished - oops! She ran 87.09. We did a high-5 as we passed each other on Eccy Road.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [2] 1.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Nike Air Zoom Vomero +2

Probably about 2 before and 8 after.

1 point for Rob Baker (who'd forgotten his keys and locked himself out hehe). Grace was in a boo cos she needed a wee.

Rivelin loop. Bit muddy but another nice evening and feeling pretty good. Knee felt a bit dodge in the evo.

Orienteering (Spring Cup) 45:00 [3]

Nice evening out on Burbage. Fairly quickly realised I wasn't up for racing it, but it was a cracking evo and I enjoyed myself anyway.
