Running 45:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Cascadia somethings

Whilst it was disappointing that WCH didn't get in the compass sport cup final, it did mean I could (a) have a few beers last night (b) not feel guilty about having a hangover (c) have a lie-in (d) not get scratched to bits at Blidworth (e) not get beaten by GG at Blidworth (f) not go to Blidworth (g) have a Sunday roast at the Three Merry Lads instead (h) do a gentle run later in the day to loosen my legs off. So I'm not really complaining. Rivelin dams, headstone, conduit, Wyming Brook - I like that loop.

Running race (FRA Relay) 56:00 [4]
shoes: jalas o-shoes

British Fell Running Relay Champs. Ran the 3rd (navigation leg) with Neil and pulled from 4th to 3rd, before Lloyd on last leg did the fastest time by 2mins to bring Dark Peak home in 2nd place :o) Wasn't really looking forward to it, but really enjoyed it in the end. Proper fell race with lots of terrain running, big hills, mud, thick mist (about 50m vis) - awesome fun. Felt like I was running quite well on the climbs, but can improve my descending. Opposite of last week - weird.

Running 41:00 [2]
shoes: Brooks Cascadia somethings

Nice wee jog out round the 2nd Redmires Dam and back through Wyming Brook. Legs rather stiff after footy yesterday. Saw the biggest stag I ever did see in Rivelin - didn't even know you got deer there. Huuuuuge antlers.

Running 55:00 [3]

Down to Goodwin on the roads to play footy. Then burped my way back along the top of Rivelin afterwards with coke sloshing around in my belly.

Footy 1:00:00 [2]

Friendly match on the astroturfs with other maths nerds. I bagged some cracking goals (2 or 3, I forget) and my team won.

Running 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Cascadia somethings

Went along to Dark Peak for once, mainly cos it meant I could get a pint in after, but the run was actually pretty good. Felt quite nippy on the roads - some bits pretty dark. Tim Tett lead the way for a bit, then it was down to Neil and me and we didn't quite go the right way. Don't really like running on busy roads in the dark.

Running 1:06:00 [3]
shoes: adidas swoops

Took my new swoops out for a spin so thought it best to stick to little paths/terrain which also made the run more fun. Quads still painful at first, but seemed better by the end and felt fairly fresh. Cut through the forbidden wood up near the pole - quite nice, Oli should map it when he's done Kinder, or maybe Neil could map it and we'd have a new map of it by 2010. Can't help wondering what goes on in that building up there. Hmmm.

Running 1:10:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Cascadia somethings

Bit misty and cool today - kinda like it when it's like that. Took myself out to Burbage mines, Oxstones, Stanage trig, pole and trespass. Quads really tight at first - probably from throwing myself off mountains yesterday and not warming down after, but felt ok once they'd loosened off. Ran past a cow with a load of red shit hanging out of it's ass which I thought was a bit odd, then realised it was licking a newborn calf - awww.
