Running 2:10:00 [3]
shoes: adidas swoops

From Fern Tree up to the top of Mt Wellington, then down to Lenah Valley falls and around a bit. Big climb (around 900m ascent) at first, then some more climbs later on. Got really dehydrated and bonked on the way back. Pulled my hammy too. Nice run though.

From the Elsons' shack by the sea on Bruny Island up to the top of Mount Mangara (570m). Big climb up a dirt road then a fun bit through the bush. Not many views cos surrounded by rainforest. Got back just in time for a cold one and a barbie.

Running race (Race to the Taste) 19:46 [5] 6.0 km (3:18 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus

Mainly downhill 6km race. Felt ok and came 7th. Did the old hands on knees thing at the finish just to hear the commentators get all excited about Hanny finishing. That was lucky! Anyhoo, thought I'd run ok, only to check my time from 2 years ago - 18.38. Must've been a lot faster back then! Oh well.

Running warm up/down 30:00 [2]

Running 1:03:00 [3]

Got back to Bruny in the arvo and in a bit of a boo how rubbish I was in the Race to the Taste, so did an extra run along Adventure Bay and up to the Fluted Cape and back. Nice views across the sea.

Running 1:32:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trabuco

Really CBF today but Team Monday fun got me out of the door. Regretting it at first as the rain poured down and I was freezing on the way to Church Mews to meet up with the others. Fortunately it stopped raining and warmed up a little but I still wasn't feeling that perky. Burnt it up with Matt for a couple of mins but other than that was just dawdling, so I didn't mind too much when Keith suggested we head back to the cars quite early on. Of course I still had to run for another 15mins after that.

Running 1:34:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trabuco

From East Keswick, over the Wharfe to Sicklinghall, then Spofforth. Cracking little castle which I stopped to have a look round. Then across to Kirkby Overblow (good name), bagged a trig, then back. Nice run through some quaint places and lots of Red Kites soaring about. Felt fine except on the hills where I felt really slow.

Running 1:15:00 [3]
shoes: adidas swoops

Drove to Ilkley Moor and ran round there for a bit with a fair bit in terrain but I compensated for the increased toughness by running slower so it wasn't actually any tougher.

Running 39:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Pegasus

Early morning run. Portway, Downs, Clifton. Tired.

Running 2:27:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trabuco

Hmm got this a bit wrong. Not so much the distance, but didn't appreciate how muddy it would be and how little I'd be able to see with my petzl. Consequently, exploring paths and woods out to Long Ashton, Flax Bourton, Felton and Dundry probably wasn't the best idea. Some bits were very slow, but then I ran quite fast at the end to try and claw some of my lost evening time back. Guess it was quite pleasing that I felt alright.

Running 59:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Pegasus

Early morning run out along the portway, up to the downs, through Sneyd Park and Stoke Bishop and back down through Clifton. Cracking morning - cold, frosty, still and sunny. I was quite well rugged up so really enjoyed it.

Note

November was my biggest month since December 2007 (which probably says more about 2008 and most of 2009 than November, but a pleasing start to the winter anyway).

Running 42:00 [3]
shoes: Nike Pegasus

Mum cancelled dinner cos she was ill so thought it'd be rude not to go for another run in my newly found free-time. Leigh Woods, bridge, Clifton et al.
