First chance for a race in 10 months. Tried to take it super easy, so no warm-up required. Started pretty easy, but then Boltboi decided that he had better get #2 after all, and then we were togoether... Thought I'd let him run away, but somehow ended up in front and stayed there till a little error coming into #11. Was working fairly hard and not feeling like I was moving very fast, but having lots of fun. A few little bobbles and sub-optimal routes, but pretty reasonable.

Will need to improve a lot though, as I felt about as in-control of my nav. as when racing full pace (ie not very). Hopefully I pull up all right. If I do, 3 runs a week may be on the cards after camp next week.

Usual little loop with the running club kiddies. Started faster than usual as I got left behind at the start and I was meant to be minding the front runners. Pace slowed the further I went as I just cruised along with the kiddies.

Neck is progressing slowly back towards feeling normal, but is comfortable enough now to run without being off-putting. Guess that's why they said it was OK to start light exercise after 1 week.

Achilles felt tops, but I never got round to nurofen or ice afterwards, so will see just how much it has improved over the next couple of days.

Pretty confident I'll get out for a gentle stroll around on Saturday arvo - that would be my first orienteering since May 14th last year! Will get back on the bike over the weekend or early next week too.

Just the little stretch down to the beach to see if neck felt comfortable running. Not too bad, but not great, so decided to pull the pin and give it a couple more days. Chest felt normal which was nice. Achilles also good.

Made it through a day of work. Don't particularly feel like exercising just yet. Feel a bit tight in the chest.
