Great sunny California ride with Harps. It appears that although I was the first one in the family to get sick this week I was also the luckiest. Phatty was out for this one so I got to head down the coast with Harps and back through some mountains and by Lake Casitas. Nice tailwind on the way out and a nice draft pocket behind Harps on the way back. We had to stop for a flat, and then another one when Harps botched the replacement! Tri-tip sammy for fuel before the climbs hit the spot. Considering how I am feeling I was surprised I made it through this long of a ride, especially with my cumulative riding hours in the past 6 months. Time to change that. Rollers through SB on the way back nearly killed me - I cracked. Beauty day for a ride and a post ride swim and hot tub with Weeanimal and Harps.

Easy cruise along Mountain road with Phatty and Harps. Felt like going to bed before this ride so I was just happy to get out.

Straight up into the mountains from the yurt. Ouch. What a reality check for what I am going to experience in France. Out of the saddle for 90% of it. Cold and rainy at the top. I was hoping to make it to a certain intersecttion but my legs were turning blue so I turned around and proceeded to cramp up my hands by squeezing the brakes the whole way back.

Downhill on a wet and steep road....fun times.

Getting sick. Good timing.

Dee and I drove up Gibralter Road to a trailhead for a run. Sunny day with great views. First 10km were all downhill, nice and easy. Then we traversed the bottom by the Gibralter reservoir and back up through a couple of valleys and then a ridgeline back to the car.Glad to get out for a trail run and nice to chat with Dee before they head off to Hawaii for the wedding!
