Cycling 2:30:00 [3] 35.0 mi (4:17 / mi)

Various cyclepaths, howgate, temple loop. Punctured south of temple, and took forever to get it fixed. Not really inspired today.

Orienteering race 35:03 [4] 5.0 mi (7:01 / mi)

Ormiston Sprintelope, 5/16, won by Oleg in 30:29.

Pretty weary for this, but held up well with the running, knee a bit sore but not too bad w/o ibuprofen. Didn't see the one some schemies lobbed in the bin, Oleg diligently recovered it later.
Really excellent course, with one wicked long leg that everyone took different routes on, and some tricky-picking in the scheme.

Back at it, after a lapse in hotels

Cycling 6:00:00 [3] 65.0 mi (5:32 / mi)

With jane. St. Helene along the cycle route to Albertville, not crossing the collapsed bridge. Some stony track cartage to a passerelle, the back on track to Ugine, faster but less pleasant D1212 climb rather than D109, Flumet, and col de Aravis. Pretty wearying climb, discussed doing another col, but then the rain came pouring down. Hid in a café for coffee in le Clusaz. Then it cleared and we rolled down through Thones. About 5 miles short of Annecy it got properly biblical, couldn't see much, hid under some eaves, bit further, more eaves, finally arrived at Hotel Flamboyant in two sodden heaps. Quite a day out.
