Note

Commonwealth Games athletics. Late acquisition of tickets from Tim Smith.
Had heard dreadful stories of trains, Park and Rides, buses etc. So we drove to Hampden, parked half a mile away, and drove home. Nae bother.

Tremendous evening of athletics, superb women's 10k and 1500. Not quite the right angle to see the 110m hurdles (just beyond the finish line). Some other cool stuff, and some fat blokes running a 1500 much slower than the women.

Lap of Inch, the a quick Sprint course around Liberton. Excusably, legs are too heavy for sprinting after last night. Inexcusably, brain not playing either.

Note

Discovered that at WOC2013 they replanned the courses to stay out of the woods at a fairly late stage. Feeling less incompetent about the test course I planned for Murray & Tessa.

CoE session with Alec McEwan
9*800 ish on the Meadows. First 6 with 1 min rest about 3:05. Last three with three min rest about 2.55. Tough session, ran one fast rep barefoot (fastest) but ground was hard and a few sticks, so put the shoes back on again.

Somehow I've always missed out on this area. Thought I only had 1:15000 maps, but found a 1:10 lurking from long ago (hand drawn course, pin punches on the map, 7min/kms all attest to age). Found it very hard on the vague slope, couldnt figure contours or veg. Then snapped into it in the detailed areas. Nice.
