The Pentland halibut with Paul - CastleLaw Farm, Harlaw, reservoirs, Black Bells col, Glencorse and back.

Beautiful day, joy to be alive. Then it chucked down some hail after we finished!

A bit rough for the rib, and a bit steep to do with shallow breaths. Paul looking in good shape was comfortably quicker throughout.

Disorganised week continues. Lunchtime meeting, run at 2, meeting at 3, lunch at 4. A sunny day to check out some hills Blackford, Bburn, Braids and home.

Impossible now to ignore the fact my left side rib is cracked. Sharply, localised pain esp with breathing hard despite Ibuprofen. Bugger Devilla.

Boy left his curling kit at home. Jog into Heriots to deliver, then home again. Rainy, full of breakfast, bit snotty, and sore ribs, so it wasn't a thing of joy.

Sniffy cold and battered ribs making it hard to breath, not really up for this.
Got accused by Kirsten of running in a "woolly cardigan". Stylish sleeveless fleece woman! Bah.
Anyway: kms 4:13 4:02 3:57 3:52 3:48. Obviously getting into it by the end :)

Plod around the Monday run, finishing along the glen road.

Left chest sore after yesterday (as it was during race and in bed). Can't remember a specific fall on it - though there were so many.

Start, finish etc. proper warm up and down.

Orienteering race 1:14:27 [3] 8.6 mi (8:39 / mi)

SOL1 Devilla. Brown, 18th winner Sascha 56:18

First SOL of the season, and really struggling in the terrain. Many heavy falls and ensuing frustration. Surveying of ditches looking for crossing points etc. On the plus side, a very clean run, maybe helped by slowness. Knew where I was the whole time, and flags popped up as expected or with minimal circle-faff. Only mistake was running half of 14-9 (oops), though winsplits has a couple of rough short legs in red.

Dechmont Law SoSoL 12/33. 3rd M50 (and slower than Hollingdale on blue)

Ran as hard as I could, made no mistakes, still way off the pace. Slippy and fell over a lot, especially early on, sweary frustrated as leg really wouldn't let me stand up. Sad.

Various jogging around between starts, finishes, carparks etc etc masquerading as warm up.

Running race 11:05 [4] 1.5 mi (7:23 / mi)

Howden sprint. Small hesitation when standing next to a pit in the green and not seeing it. Elsewise clean. A minute down on Tess suggest some faffing elsewhere, not sure where though.

Orienteering race 14:40 [4] 2.0 mi (7:20 / mi)

Almondvale sprint. Got myself trapped on the cunning leg I planned for the JK: maximum idiot points for that! Elsewise clean. A minute down on Tess.

Really need to work on acceleration to top speed if I'm going to do these things.
