Orienteering race (Oceania Long) 1:45:10 [4] 11.97 km (8:47 / km)
shoes: Innov8 Somethings

Average day today. Felt reasonable running but the toatal soaking and running with a shirt that is 3 sizes to big made for a slow day. Rock was very slippy and bush thick in parts. Made 2 errors today but nothing more than maybe 8min in total. Managed to hold off the 2 WA M20E runners who did the same course.

Road Cycling (School to ravenswood) 1:37:00 [4] 56.0 km (1:44 / km)
shoes: Giant TCR Advanced

Ride down to the annual maritime camp at ravenswood jetty. Wind good so tried to push a decent pace First magpie swoop of the season. Also overtook mum and dad duck with 8 or 9 ducklings near lakes rd on the freeway path.

Road Cycling (ravenswood to school) 1:43:00 [4] 56.0 km (1:50 / km)
shoes: Giant TCR Advanced

Dark ride home but the dinner provided at the camp was enough to make the ride pleasant on the way back. Tried to hold a similar pace on the way back even though the legs felt like lead.

MTBO race (Goatfarm SS ) 1:44:00 [4] **** 24.5 km (4:15 / km)
ahr:158 max:196 24c shoes: Specialized Epic Marathon Car

Great day for racing and also a great novelty for the last race of a the season, a le mans mass start and 2 scale maps for the long course.

Took off and got to the start punch first and lead the pack out. Decided that i didnt want the pack on my tail so i threw a curve ball and took some sweeping berms down to take the bottom route choice rather than the direct way. Got to the control around the same time but not first. This worked well as i had someone to lead me out.

Hit the heritage trail and took the lead quickly but only shortly as the powericky went scuttling past. Followed him to 2 and towards 3 before he took a stack in front of me allowing me to take the lead to 4 and 5 before he gained the lead at 6. Pretty much kept crossing paths with him as we took different route choices through to the map change.

Gave ricky a bigger buffer when i left 13 and went and punched 15 but noticed that i had turned it on. That meant Ricky hadnt been thorugh at which i suddenly realised i had missed 14. Lost time here to Ricky as i had to redo 14-15.

Continued working hard and managed to recatch him at control 18 and picked up his tail at 19. Rode pretty much with Ricky to 20 before i had my cleat come loose in my right shoe which didnt allow the shoe to release from pedal. This left me falling over a few times. Had chain suck also kick in on the last few controls which allowed Ricky to exscape ont he last 3 controls which i had annoyed about but thats life when mechanicals come in to play. Glad to finish the race and also to be on ricky's tail pushing him.

Fun day and a well set course which allowed for varied route choices. Certainly that occurred between Ricky and myself.
