Orienteering race 1:10:00 [4] **** 6.14 km (11:24 / km) +190m 9:52 / km
(injured) shoes: Montrail Highlander

AT last minute decided to try walking the classic race--ankle swollen but OK for weightbearing. As expected, MUCH cleaner than Saturday and finished with a respectable time in spite of walking. Actually hobble-jogged some on last few controls on roads and fields.
It would seem, had I been able to run normally, there are places I could have done so and not negatively affected the navigation. Need to spend more time calibrating the speeds necessary for different map challenges.

Orienteering race 1:00:00 [4] ***** 3.26 km (18:24 / km) +95m 16:04 / km
shoes: icebug mr2

Ugly all around. Just couldn't seem to get myself in the right place-- as if my compass was pointing 30deg off or something. Then I really rolled my ankle about 1/3 of the way in and struggled to make it the rest of the way. I don't recall the pain being overwhelming, but perhaps it had an effect on my brain, as it went completely dead by the end (got upside down on the simple run-in to the go control...)

One to forget...

Road Running 55:00 [3] 6.0 mi (9:10 / mi)
shoes: New Balance 740

Bollinger + Lewis Mills rd. Mostly to get my legs back after all the travel the last 10 days. Lots of distance estimation practice--pick a point 50 yds out and then see how close I get (running or walking pace count).
