Orienteering race (Middle) 1:10:15 [4] *** 4.32 km (16:16 / km) +260m 12:30 / km
spiked:25/25c slept:7.0 shoes: VJ Falcon M

Had a relatively longer and more timely sleep compared to the past month (slept at 11 woke up at 7!) in the cabins of Ivydale Camp in Idaho city....where there is no phone reception or wi-fi...

Technically overload for the middle course...lost 12min for the 1st control (actually went past the 3rd control before turning back....maybe due to the 1:7500 scale and my bad focus...plus I couldnt relocate myself well...) lost another 10 min in the next 3 controls.... (someone would have finished the whole course of 25 controls by this point)
and I simply felt frustrated by my vy bad map reading and physical ability...
I started getting a little smoother in the 2md half after control 10...could have done this course at least 20min faster.......
winning time was 31'...which was way better than the 2nd place of 41''

Very disappointed with my performance....and again, I had low morale from the beginning...
hopefully, it will get better as the week progresses..

Note
slept:5.0

With Mike Schuh on the road for 10hours from Seattle to Boise and up to Idaho city
All sleeping done in the car.....which left at 4am

Orienteering race (Sprint) 18:24 [5] *** 3.33 km (5:32 / km) +10m 5:27 / km
21c

Mispunched one of the controls....which I rejected going back after I kind of discovered because I didnt realize that controls could be put so close together......without the hesitation of going back or not, I would have done around 18:15, with the winning time of around 16min

Haven't DNF-ed for a while....this time, I had very low spirit and determination....bad physical strength...and even though it was fairly smooth, I didnt feel good about it

running warm up/down 20:00 [2] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Long wait....so I ran several times.....for the warm up before the sprints, and hopefully cope with my bad physical shape.....which was still bad in the run.....especially my breathing and heart
