Trailsnail and I ran with a small running group that started from a restaurant/bar in downtown Prescott, AZ called the Barley Hound. Everyone else did 2.5-3 miles but we bailed out (which was our plan from the beginning) and only did about a mile. Being out of shape and at high altitude (combined with one fairly steep hill) wasn't a good combination. Still, a nice run, and very pleasant people to run (a bit) with and chat with before and after the run.

Not a workout -- a GPS trace of the sightseeing train trip we did from Clarkdale, AZ along the Verde River canyon. Total distance was 39+ miles, and climb was 816 feet.

With trailsnail, in a national forest just outside of the Prescott city limits. Raining moderately, which changed to wet snow while we were running. We took a look at a trail that more or less paralleled the road, and decided it looked a bit too rocky for our comfort, so we decided to run on the road. Then, after a bit, we saw a way to the trail which at that point didn't look terrible. We had to ford a small stream that most of the year, I suspect, is no issue at all, but with all the snow and rain they've had lately, it took a little looking around before finding two nicely placed small boulders to hop over on. We ran down the trail for around 0.3 miles and then there was another stream crossing; at this point, we weren't able to find a way of crossing that we were comfortable with, so we turned around and went back the way we came.
