Ran a sweet relay. Felt really fast and mentally good.

Orienteering long (Long) 2:08:00 [5] 12.5 km (10:14 / km)

Ran a slow but good race. I aced all my conrols, staying in contact with the map for about 95% of the course. The downside was that I mad some bad route choices on the long legs that cost me about 15 minutes. I also felt a bit slow but it was supper hot out. Over all I felt good and my hydration sack saved my life basically. I think it was 28C out there. Anyways it was really fun and one of the hardest races of my life.

Orienteering race (Middle Final) 46:04 [3] 3.0 km (15:21 / km)

I have come to the biggest conclusion today. To be a good orienteer you cant just rely on training physically. To be good you need to do WAY more mental training then physical...until you are extremely consistent in your races. I constantly hear team mates saying, "If I didnt make those 10 minutes in mistakes I would have done so much better." Its true, if we eliminate those mistakes we WILL be so much better.

From here on, this is my goal. From now on I am going to make mental training my top priority, physical will be secondary. For example, if i hadnt of made all the mistakes I did today I would have been a good 20 mintues faster. If I would have had the perefect race. I want to make all my races the perfect race. Once I have mastered the mental part or oreinteering, I can then work on improving my speed.

This is my new goal, from now on I will log all my mental training because i feel that this is most important now. That is what I have learned today, to be a good orienteer you need to master the mental aspect of orienteering first, and then work on physical.

A pretty bad race. I had some good legs but lost all my time on some stupid mistakes.
