Watch turned off during 1st control and did to realize it until late in the race. Much better race today, especially the first half. Made some dumb route choices during the 2nd half of the course. Seems I am not very good at navigating on ski slopes.

Ratlum Mountain Map. Course that had been designed by Charlie for his summer event. Went slowly and made significant errors on two controls. Learned quite a bit. Here are the lessons for the weekend: My vision was impaired a bit with my new glasses. My eyes were burning from sweat. (Wear a sweat band.) Hat came off several times. (Don’t wear a hat.) Was bothered by the wet, thick and thorny vegetation. (Avoid wet thick and thorny vegetation). (Don’t let the vegetation throw me off my route.) It all comes down to reading the map better.
