Running race (orienteering) 35:45 [4] 4.5 mi (7:57 / mi)
shoes: Continental Divide

O course. Once again i was beat by Alex by one minute. I just can't believe it. At the beginning i was asked by a girl where she was so i had to stop and help. That must of cost me at least 2 seconds right??? Blew one control by 2 minutes and another by 10 seconds. Had a good run. I can see by looking at Alex's times that I am running slow and need some speed work

Note

This morning I feel the best i have felt in two weeks. no stomach cramps last night and the pain in the hips is moderating. Went to the Dr on tues, he said to take it easy. Beast is probably not the best idea this weekend. I think that it was a good chice not to ride last night.

Now I need to start climbing out of my hole. I feel like my fitness is gone. I am not sure about my running this winter but I will try to work out a plan.

I went for in for a resting metabolism/body fat test today. I had scheduled it three weeks ago. Pretty good test but like everything else, there were no suprises.

weight 172 (seems a bit low from where i have been)
Fat 19% (seems a bit high from where i have been)
Resting calorie expenditure 1,900
waist (around the widest part) 37

1,900 cals is not very much. So basically if i am not working out, i am gaining fat weight. i am not so much concerned about the weight as long as it is muscle weight that contributes to specific ability (ie i don't need a huge neck but i could use more powerful legs). so i need to track my intake. My goal weight excluding any muscle gain would be about 165. I know this because I am packing about 5 extra pounds around the middle. Thats where the waist measurement comes in. My weight can fluctuate but I would like that to drop down to 35 inches.
