Kayaking on Perry Lake

I like kayaking but I rarely get to do it. So when I found a group called "Dirty Girl Adventures" that has several types of outings, including kayaking, I signed up. There were about 35 of us on this hot evening. The wind had created some waves on the lake, which was fine when we were going down wind but a bit hard after we turned around. So we also spent lots of time just floating and relaxing. I'm only counting part of the total time.

It was nice to meet new people, especially women who like to do outdoors things. Although it's a slightly different demographic than orienteers: many women were drinking beer or wine while in the boats, and about half did not appear to be active athletes. Good range of ages, however, from college students to grandmas. It was lot of fun and I'm glad I went.

Sandy and I rode the Lawrence Loop together. It was much more fun to have a companion around, to share some good conversation and laughs. Made the hills, especially, much easier to handle. Some day I need to ride this loop on a cloudy cool day to see how refreshing it can be.

Four mini-sprints on the Spooner map. There is a construction zone now near the finish on 1 & 2 so I had to ad lib a bit. Another scorching hot day so I took few minutes break between each round. I also walked all the uphills. I'm out of sprint map reading mode, need more practice on this.
