orienteer 42:44 [3] 3.9 km (10:57 / km) +11m 10:48 / km

Re-run of a course from last summer. I should say "repeat" since I only ran half of it. My legs are still tired and sore from weights this week, and they always feel weird when I get off the bike, So I walked a lot in the beginning, then did some running, then walked again when I got tired.

My goal was to beat my time from last year (53 minutes). It was an even match: last year I made a huge mistake and wandered too long, and I didn't finish the course. This year I was walking but tried to be clean. I also did the course backwards to add a bit of a challenge.

cycle 1:15:00 [2] 18.0 km (4:10 / km)

Riding to and from the Arboretum, plus some extra. I needed to be sure to hit 6 hours for the week. I've been getting a bit lazy this year about sticking to my training goal for the week, and I want to get back in the habit.

Nice run on campus. I used part of the Robinson gym map, which has big changes (new business school building where the tennis courts used to be).

run/walk 1:30:00 [3] 9.02 km (9:59 / km) +113m 9:23 / km

Since many folks are running at West Point today, I felt I would join them in spirit and do a long run (but no big hills :) I warmed up a bit, then jogged continuously for 30 minutes to give myself some 5K practice. I haven't run in a couple of weeks and it showed. But I felt better as time went on, especially when I started throwing in walking breaks. Warm and sunny when I was out, but I had dressed for cool and rainy (most of today) so I was overdressed.
