Local event at the Overlook. Unbelievable weather: sunny and 20C. It was actually too hot to run. I forgot to start my watch until #4. I am also used to the water in the inlet being very high, so I never considered crossing from 4 to 5. Lost a lot of time here.

Then let my mind wander as I was running on the trails to 11, lost some time there.

Was really annoyed with the slog through the tall grass and then the big uphill at the very end; sapped a lot of fun out of the day for me.

Today, the warm temps finally arrived. it was 19C when I was driving home. We had plans to eat dinner at MIke's mom, so I didn't have much time. I stopped at Holcom Park on the way home, changed my shoes and top (nice to have tons of gear lying around in the back seat) and did some quick sprint drills in the grass. It was the perfect way to kick off the weekend.

Sickness is running rampant in my office. Some are getting the flu, others are getting bronchitis. I'm desperately trying to stay healthy. I feel sleepy and run down, a slight tickle in my throat. But that's all. So far. Decided to take today off and rest. Maybe it will work.....

I planned to do sprint drills tonight because the forecast was for 15C. But when I left work after a long sucky day, and it was actually 3C, all the mojo instantly left me. So I exercised inside tonight and will do sprint drill on Th or F instead.

Listened to podcasts tonight while I exercised. Stumbled into Hidden Brain's interview with Arlie Hochschild (the "Deep Story" episode https://t.co/3ZFFN8xhyP). I was thrilled and fascinated. I've been trying to understand how the democrats lost the trust of the working class. And how the working class feels now and why they supported Trump. This interview explained some of it to me, and I had quite a few "aha" moments. Don't know how I will use this information yet, but I intend to keep trying to understand and listen to Trump supporters.

Mike and I met sandy at Rockcrusher.Mike went off for a run on his own. Sandy and I hung tapes together for the first hour, then she had to leave and I hung tapes alone for the second hour. Absolutely beautiful day to be out in the woods.
