orienteer 53:26 [3] 5.27 km (10:08 / km) +118m 9:07 / km

A nice day to be out at Clinton. I ran a course that Mike set for himself (he ran it earlier this week). Did a good job of keeping moving. I deliberately tried to go cross country, instead of just trails. Grass near 8 was tall; and the trails from 8 to 9 has changed a lot.

15 degrees in January, time for a bike ride! There were lots of other folks out on the bike path today, too. I came up on a guy with three dogs, all off leash. I was worried about trying to pass them. But with one hand signal, his dogs all rushed to his side, and immediately sat down. I thanked him, and praised how well he had trained his dogs. It was really a nice surprise.

run/walk warm up/down 20:00 [2]

A beautiful 15 degree night, I had to get outdoors. Did one of Mike's line O s on west campus. Fun, if not completely accurate. It was hard, without north lines on the map. forced me to look up more, which is good. I was moving for 35 minutes of the 36 I was out (accidentally included walk to the start), which is also good.

Note

In November 2014, I was diagnosed with a "frozen shoulder" on my right side. I was advised that PT would help some, but in general, it would take about 1 to 1.5 years to get better. A few months later, my left should had the same symptoms. The right shoulder "loosened up" in October 2015. And this week, the left shoulder finally recovered. Today, I was able to get dressed normally for the first time since Nov 2014. So I am removing this from my list of injuries. I think this is the first of my strictly "old age" injuries, as opposed to an athletic injury. Sigh.

Mike and I went to Woodridge. He did a course and checked the permanent markers, while I hung tapes for an upcoming event. Beautiful day to be walking through the woods, sunny and 5. Only saw Mike, and another couple at the very end. I had fun looking at animal tracks in the snow.
