Line O training at Clinton. Wondrous weather, temps in the 50s. Yet I wasn't really inspired to practice orienteering. Mike had the good suggestion to do a line O, which takes a different kind of focus compared to regular orienteering.

If I made a mistake, I went back and did it right. Except when I was following the rock wall: I wandered until I found a good place to cross the stream.

This was fun, and I went to areas of the park that I don't often see. I also checked out a bit of the XC ski trail. It's all ready to go, if we ever get enough snow. route

erg 10:00 [1]

Tried a bit of erg to see how the shoulder felt. It was fine. And I can now get my right arm about 1/3 of the way up my back now. Progress.

Sandy and I went to the Overlook for training. I had set a route choice exercise. One person had the map with the course; the other person had a map with no course. We alternated leading to the next control. On the first leg, I looked quickly to pick a route to 2. Then she led to 3, etc. Good practice in figuring out a route quickly. We had lots of good discussions along the way (about orienteering and other topics). She runs a lot faster than I, so that forced me to push the pace on the trails. Fun training. (I forgot to stop my watch, so the track goes all the way home :)
