Nordic track 1:00:00 [1]

I wasn't sure how I was going to get in a long day today. But I discovered that I could tolerate a long Nordic track session if I was watching an interesting show. I watched the second part of Death Comes to Pemberley. I had read the book, so I knew the plot, but it was still fun to watch.

More night O training. Mike and I went to the Overlook, although I almost bailed out. I had a stressful day at work, and it was still on my mind. I tried to use this as good practice to focus my mind on orienteering, but I totally failed. Wandered around the crappy woods near 3. Did a 90 degree error on the way to 6. And went through more crappy woods. By the time I got close to 6, I decided I had enough, and just skipped and and ran on the trails to fill out the 30 minutes.

A set back on the shoulder. Hurts more, and less mobility. Not sure what caused it (something in the past 2 weeks). Did extra work at PT today, trying new exercises and different assessments. Even consulted a more senior therapist for advice. Seems like my left hamstring and right shoulder problems are related, and due to poor posture and bad breathing. My rib cage is mis-algined, my shoulders are mis-aligned my hip moves more than it should, and so on. Good news is that it's possible to fix with the right exercises and techniques. But now my shoulder hurts, and I have to ice it.

First night O of the season. I needed the practice of using all my night gear again. Plus, there was a light mist, so I got to practice reading the map in the rain. Perfect conditions to practice for next weekend. I drew a course on west campus, but modified it before I went out, based on Mike's suggestion to avoid the crappy trail. Still, the first trail was pretty overgrown. Later, I got cocky and messed up 7. Fun to be out orienteering in the dark again, and surprising all the deer. My route.

Mike and I finally made it to the new Ikea. We figured the new-ness would have worn off, and Sunday morning would be quiet. Not! It was totally packed. We looked a t a few things, had some lunch, bought two lamps, and then hustled out of there. I'll have to go back some time on a week day.

We went to SMP for a run. Nice to be on a good map, and the woods are starting to to thin out, in parts. I drew a course and visited some areas I don't know very well. Stayed mostly on trails, but cut through short sections of woods. I was afraid the course was too long, so I chose to skip 3. And then I decided to run the new trails after 8, in order to get a track. There were hayrides leaving from 9, so I skipped it.

EDIT: course and route now loaded
