Mike and I went out to Rockcrusher, where I ran part of the course he set for President's day. It was nice to have some tapes in the woods. It was not nice to have 6-8 inches of snow. I was sleepy before I went out, and the snow just sapped my strength and motivation.. So I just walked around a few controls.

It's a good thing that I have a desk job, so I'm at a computer all day.
It's a good thing that my boss is away for a few weeks.
It's a good thing that work is a bit slow right now (except for the big project which ends next Wed)
It's a good thing that I'm responsible for my own work load

Because I estimate that my email ratio this week (A meet vs work) has been about 25:1.

Edit
Didn't mean to sound so whiney.
It's a very good thing I am working with Paul, Dick, Mike and Valerie. They are a joy to work with, and they're all doing a shitload of work this week. Thank you !!!!

I think my new trainer has finally figured out my "sweet spot". Previous sessions have been a bit too easy. Today was perfect. Just right on the first rep, a little harder on the second rep, pushing a bit to finish the third rep. I like this routine of short interval type training.

stretch 1 [0]

Hunkering down for our second big storm of the week. This time I bought enough Diet Coke :)

Note

Wow, I just looked closely at the registration list for the ISIC champs. Nine women in F50! Man, I wish I was running !

And Karan Keith is coming??? OK should put on A meets more often, if it brings people like Karan out of the wood work :) Maybe we should try to take a club photo (although Dave L won't be there....)

orienteer 1:30:00 intensity: (50:31 @1) + (22:08 @2) + (17:21 @3) 6.13 km (14:42 / km) +110m 13:29 / km

Sandy and I did a line O training at Clinton today. The line was on one map only. The leader tried to stay on the line, while the follower had to try to keep map contact. We alternated leading legs. Warm out there today (40s), which made the snow very mushy. Which was fun for downhill running, or on the packed trails. But was very tiring in the open fields.

We stopped a lot to discuss the map (which is a work in progress, with many features missing). Between the map and the snow, we didn't go nearly as far as we expected. I was glad to turn around, because I was tired from trying to keep up with Sandy (who is a much faster runner than me)
