Hiking on the trails at Clinton with the Lawrence Women's Meetup group. It was strange to go at a walking pace on these trails, but it was nice to have company and conversation. It was a lot of fun. We were out for 2 hours total, but I'm only logging 35 minutes.

cycle 30:00 [2]

Last class. I'm glad I took this one, since it forced me to ride differently (out of the saddle, harder resistance, sprints, etc) than I usually do. Helped build up some different muscles, too. But I won't miss riding in a sweaty classroom.

100+ heat is back. Corn fields are brown already; will be very little to harvest this year. So far, our "water girl" duties have kept our new plants growing, but the city is considering water restrictions :(

Went to Centennial Park to run a few sprints. The maps I had were old, from 1993 and 1998, so I knew this could be a challenge. But I wanted to practice sprinting in a park that I didn't know by heart, so that I would actually have to read the map on the run.

This was good practice, but I failed. One, I was really tired after my long week of training, so no surprise, my pace was much slower than I planned. And since I was tired, I made mistakes, especially on the second sprint. Big miss on 2, then started to go from 5 to 7, then missed 7. Oh well, live and learn.
