PTOC event at Kill Creek, green course. We used Valerie's epunch equipment, for our first use at a local meet. We only used it on red and green, but several people ran up from orange, just to be able to try the epunch. Everything went very smoothly, with only two minor glitches, which were easily fixed. I think we're all set for using epunch at the Trot this year!!

I started late, and had the advantage of knowing the other finish times. But I was still not able to be 4 seconds faster to beat Marv :( Easy course, mostly a trail run. I felt pretty good.

There were fewer people in class tonight, so I got more practice time. Learned how to shorten my back swing, so that I actually make contact with the ball (rather than a complete woof).

SLOC relays, leg 2 (green) of unofficial 4 pt team. I was removed from our official team, partly because I was sick, mostly because Dan was on the the team in the past, he's a much better orienteer, and he's now worth 2 points :) Time and HR zones are a guess, since my strap didn't work, once again, and I accidentally stopped my watch during the race.

Clean run, but a bit slow in places. It was so vague, and my goal was "no mistakes", so sometimes the best option was to jog towards the control, then slow to a walk and keep your eyes open for the flag. Made a mistake at 7 (got off my compass line; need to work on this) but I corrected quickly. Felt pretty good physically, although I could tell it was day three and I didn't have a lot of push left in my legs.

Fun area, great spectating, glad to be on a team with Pete, Fritz and Dave. Lots of fun visiting with others, and so happy to be able to drive and be unpacked at home by 7:30 pm. So jealous of the east coasters who get to do this all the time. A fun weekend.
