Mike designed a trail line-o exercise for us out at Rockcrusher. May be our last trip to Rockcrusher for the season. The woods are already too thick, and the trails out here don't get much use, so they'll get overgrown in the summer.

Fun exercise, trying hard to pay attention to every twist in the trail. Some "controls" were off trail, but I just stopped when I could see the point. One mistake at 10, when I wasn't paying much attention and stopped one set of curves too soon.

Mostly jogging, with some walking to read the map or go up hills. After I finished the course, I continued to jog/walk on the trails since I was feeling pretty good and I wanted more time on my feet.

Felt a twinge or two high up on the hamstring, near the glute. My trainer thinks these pains (which I also get just from too much sitting) might be IT band issues, rather than hamstring (although the hamstring used to hurt, lower down, including during my last run). I'll try foam roller and IT band stretches to see if that helps. Doing the PT prior to running certainly did help!

HR strap was not sitting flush, so I got some funky readings. Adjusted for AP log.

Plan was 10 min walk-40 min jog-10 min walk. But as I started jogging, the hamstring started acting up. I stopped a few times to do my exercises, but they didn't help tonight. Finally decided to turn around early. And I eventually just walked it in.

It's too bad, because it was beautiful weather. Lower 70s with no humidity. Perfect spring evening.

I was bumming about my hamstring, but then I had a eureka moment during my PT. My trainer said I should do PT before and after any run, and I totally forgot to do them before my run tonight. So, that will teach me to forget his advice:) And I hope it means tonight was only a temporary set-back.

Wanted a nice easy day, to just move my muscles a little bit to loosen them up. So I walked to the gym, and used the elliptical. I used no resistance, so I felt like I was "spinning". Some stretching after, and lots of water to drink. I'm beginning to recover.

I was inspired by Gail to get out on my bike for the first time this year. Mike got my bike ready for the season, and then we went for a leisurely ride to the grocery store and back. Mean head wind going there; fun tail wind coming back !
