Orienteering race at Tall Oaks, red course. Warm sunny day, thorny woods, fun course. Decided to stay down in the flood plain from 2 to 3 (just off the map), but I lost track of the hill. Bad concentration.

That mistake made me work harder on concentration for the rest of the course. Did OK. Got tired (physically) in the middle, and plenty tired of the thorns. But overall, it was a fun race in an area that is hard to set long courses.

Started to ride my bike to campus, then noticed I had forgotten my lock. So I turned around and went home. At that point, I wimped out and drove to campus. Did a quick check of the NOD course, which we will re-use next week, and then added some more orienteering. The parking lots were full and there were lots of tailgaters enjoying the fall day. I was surprised how many people were still hanging out, 15 minutes after the game had started.

I was sleepy today, and a little bit out of it. I used it as a chance to practice concentration. I'd give myself a B-.

Nice jog on the Clinton trails tonight, Felt fast in my new Oroc 280 shoes. Like my other Inov-8s, they feel invisible once you start moving. Felt good on the rocks, too. A definite thumbs up review.
