Local O meet at Weston Bend. I walked the Orange course.
Some good things I can say about today's meet:
--the weather was perfect (48 degrees)
--I talked to some friends
--I talked to some newcomers
--I burned some calories
--Premarked maps!
--I thanked the volunteer meet workers (as always)
--Navigation was rusty but not too bad
--I worked out some early season O bugs (remember to look at compass often and ignore other folks always)
--there were Godiva chocolates waiting for me at the finish (thanks Nancy!)
I took a "mental health" vacation day today, so I was able to get outdoors in the day time. Went to the far end of Clinton and explored the trails. The old map is still very accurate out there (as far as trails are concerned; vegetation and man-made features have changed). One new set of trails was a mountain bike skills area which looked pretty cool. They ask you to sign a waiver and leave it in the box before you go on the course. Interesting.
Did 5 sets of 1 w/4 j. Felt really good. Some folks might be afraid of tripping, but I glided over the rocks and limbs as if they weren't even there.
