Mike and I rode downtown for dinner. Good practice on riding on streets with traffic. I don't like the brick streets, or the one that was graded for repairs.
Nice dinner, followed by some Christopher Elbow chocolates. Yum!
I explored a bit of Mike's map. Love that it is a two minute walk from the house.
Started to aplog, but then I remembered that I had my iPhone with me. So I'm logging during my training. Good thing I'm on a flat gravel road; it' s not easy to type and walk.
I went to a classical music recital tonight, and I starting thinking about the parallels with orienteering. Obviously, you have to translate the music score into action. And you have to concentrate the whole time you're performing. (The physical aspect is missing, though). How many orienteers are also musicians? Does a musical background help with O? Or not?
Mike and I have gotten so used to being together all day, it will be hard to return to reality tomorrow. So we extended it a bit by taking a short ride together to the arboretum.

I decided it would be good for my foot if I kept up the easy hikes. So I went to Clinton and walked on the Overlook trail. Out 10 min, back 10 min. The park was full of holiday revelers; nice to see it so well used.
Back from another fabulous trip to Yellowstone. Lots of walking every day, but I'll only log part of it.
Foot hurt a lot the first day, which was a real concern. Ice and lots of ibuprofen helped during the next few days. And then a miracle occurred: all the light walking seems to have stengthened my support muscles and my foot now feels great!
