Dad Perry practice
I'm on vacation again this week, trying to orienteer as much as possible. I wanted a challenge, but also wanted to stay close to home, Dad Perry was perfect for this. Pulled an old course from 2012.
I get confused every time I orienteer here. The trail junctions look different in real life compared to the map, for me. I always have to check my compass to find the right trail. And whenever I try to run, I mess up big time.
I thought I would do better this time, but no. Started out with a big mistake. I started from my car, no the start triangle, which I knew. But promptly forgot about it when executing the route to 1.
Then I couldn't figure out the trail junctions around 3 and 4, lost a lot of time going back and forth. Should be easier than this.
Did not like the long run to 5 and 6 and started complaining in my head about the course setter. Totally forgot (looked it up later) that I was the course setter, LOL
Trails around 8 are gone, so I got as close as I could. Some of the minor trails are not used much and are overgrowing with the bush honeysuckle.
