12 PM

Running Training tempo 1:23:34 [3] 16.84 km (4:58 / km)
shoes: Saucony Progrid Ride 3 (Blue)

Lunchtime run from Ab Matty Unit around Aberdeen. Set off down towards beach, via Mounthooly and Boulevard. Over Broad Hill then along beach front to Bridge of Don.
Through Seaton Park, up into Tillydrone, down along riverside to Persley, up Anderson Drive to Hilton Drive and back to Ab Matty.

Set off quite steadily but sped up along the way, was feeling great getting out and running after all the long days in the wards waiting and stressing.

Perfect conditions for running, not too warm or windy.

Felt really good through first part of the run, then legs got a bit achey midway. Right Knee felt a bit sore later on.

Was feeling inspired by reading Dean Karnazes book Ultramarathon Man. :D

Core Stability 10:00 [1]

Core stab/flex session on makeshift bed on floor before getting up properly. Left SIJ stiff again when I woke up.

Running Training warm up/down 9:41 [3] 2.34 km (4:08 / km)
shoes: Saucony Progrid Ride 3 (Blue)

Warm up run to LC for SRC session, left late so had to move! Felt great, nice to get a blast after a pretty stressful few days!
7 PM

Running Training intervals (Short Speed) 45:00 [4] 6.0 km (7:30 / km)
shoes: Saucony Progrid Ride 3 (Blue)

Short Speed intervals session with SRC. After warm up from house I was feeling pretty ready, had nice easy warmup with club too round tennis courts.

Intervals were from back of caravan park in a clockwise loop round Cowie circuit. 2 sets of 4 loops.

Set off on No 1 very steady, chatting to Steve T too much, then sped up for No 2 by 8 secs, then sped up from there. Felt good on first set of 4, buggered after 1-4. Felt good for 2-1, but then really had to work on rest, 2-3 and then 2-4 were all out effort and struggled to maintain pace.

Note
(rest day)

Left SIJ sore this morning when I woke up. Overslept so didn't have time to do any core stab stuff. Slept on floor in nursery so not ideal, plus probably stiff from running over weekend with no more core work done.
7 PM

Road Cycling warm up/down 22:22 [2] 8.62 km (2:36 / km)

Easy cruise round Stonehaven on bike to clear the cobwebs from a long, tough day. Was a lovely night to be out, rode along waterfront and boardwalk, then back via Forest Rd and Woodcot Brae. Not using SPD shoes so climb up Woodcot was hard on the quads, enjoyed it.
