Mabodalen.

Hitched up after work to check out the first part of the half marathon next saturday. Legs and body not feeling strong unfortunately.

Tough first climb, not even that steep but very rocky. After that some nice slabs of rock before a gradual climb through bog. Very wet trail, lots of mud so was slipping and sliding a lot. Hard to get into a rhythm. It will be interesting. Turned around a bit before the highest point of the course. Beautiful views over the plateau.

Seems like a good tactic to save energy on the first climb and generally try to find a rhythm up to the highest point, before a long downhill (about 15k) to the finish.

Slettafjellet.

Hadn't done this one in a while. Not really feeling it today; have been feeling a bit weak the past days and wonder what it might be, plus today it was very rainy. Waited till the rain stopped around 6pm and then headed out.

Wonderful run, feeling very strong. Hard effort on the uphill but definitely not maximum. Careful on the downhills. Lots of creeks to cross, water on the trails, wading up to my ankles and knees in some places. Fog and drizzle up on the summit. Lovely.

Think the weak feeling is due to general tiredness, because running-wise I'm the fittest I've been so far this summer.

Schedule of one long run / two rest days seems to suit my body well.
