Bicycling 24:00 [1]

Note

I think we have passed the last bureaucratic hurdle on bringing over our second orienteering exchange student from Finland for the fall.

In other news, Isak arrived last night and set out by bike today to visit various Cambridge summer camps and convince them to work with Navigation Games this summer to spread the practice of orienteering! Ambassador par excellence.

Update: wow. Isak rocked it today. So far, he scheduled us to do an event with special needs kids at the Rainbow camp; arranged to teach 20 kids at the Moses Youth Center every Friday; agreed to provide a map scavenger hunt every week for the "Mission Possible - Solve It!" program; arranged a one-time event for the Frisoli Youth Center; confirmed that the Cambridge Community Center will send kids to the Magazine Beach navigation games every Wednesday; and agreed to send orienteering lesson plans to the Cambridge Food Program.

Note

Great advocating by CRLS female athletes in the news.

Note

Bit of a blur, but I think it was this day that I met Cristina at Lincoln-Sudbury and talked with the athletic director about creating an orienteering map. Also met Cristina's friend Ginny, and got two different recommendations of people to talk to in the Wellness department about including orienteering in their outdoor education programs.
It was great to have Cristina there, and her connections!!!
Wish I had had time to see the young man as well, particularly as I would like to see this "terrible twos" phenomenon in a person I've only seen as buddha-like.

Note

Talking to some new people about including orienteering in their summer programs.
The strategy is to have a summer camp in which kids develop orienteering activities and then bring them to other camps. Maximum exposure.

Bicycling 30:00 [2]

To meet the most lovely young woman, who has agreed to volunteer 120 hours to Navigation Games this summer. Life is good.

OK, Here is the video of the play I was in. I can't watch it myself as I am too embarrassed.
