Dave and I tackled some Navigation Games business last night. So far this year we have spent over $5000 on equipment (including an electronic punching kit), supplies, and other expenses. In addition, NEOC has funded teacher salaries directly through the City of Cambridge's Community Schools program.
Yesterday's 3rd Intro to Orienteering park event went well. We advertised fairly broadly on email lists, and had a dozen first-timers attend, as well as one family who stumbled upon us last week at a different park and had enough fun to return. A couple families expressed interest in Sunday's NEOC Blue Hills event. Also, we had our first robot orienteer, with a gorup at MIT.
Huge thanks to Larry Berman for getting the permit, Dave & Isak for helping to run the event, and Giovanni for the electronics.
