Note
Well, John Lee called last night and we talked about doing a rogaine. Originally I'd been thinking that he and I would do the Dakota rogaine, but he's becoming more geographically constrained as the years of unemployment stretch onward; there's plenty of travel time if he can fit it in between music festivals, but the automobile is becoming less reliable, and the plane fare starts to feel almost hedonistic. Big Muddy would just be easier for him to get to than having to get all the way east of Wyoming.
I had wanted to do Dakota with John because I figured (a) it's a really tasty looking rogaine, all that sweeping terrain and large mammals, and (b) maybe I could convince PG to do Big Muddy; seems not a hard sell. And Dakota might be a hard sell to any regular orienteer because of the timing: smack on top of WRE A meet... Anyway, I emailed PG asking if he'd consider Dakota.
Obviously there is some serious training remediation to be done, starting asap. Fortunately I've been resting up and avoid injury, so I should be in a very good place to begin training and observe leaps and bounds of physical improvement. I want to be taken in hand and ordered about on this front.
