Note
So about this 100k trek this weekend.
For starters, I'm not all trained up. So I guess that means I only have a hope of finishing it if I go real slow.
I am anticipating that the hard things will be pain (lower back, feeet) and boredom, or the mental will to keep going.
I don't have a pacer (pacers are allowed the last half of the event). Geoff was thinking about doing it but he has other things going on this weekend now.
Dave was considering being my "handler" (meeting me at the aid stations). But I think that seems a little silly - a pacer seems more useful, because the hard thing is going to be keeping moving, not what happens at the aid stations. And he'd have to do a lot of driving, and a lot of it would be at night.
So I'm on my own. Headphones aren't allowed, but I got to thinking that maybe I could have virtual pacers. I can bring my phone and make a few calls and maybe tweet every few miles. (I am barb_bryant on twitter, I think.) And I can send and receive text messages (617-335-4847).

Tapering... :-)
Today is Izzy's birthday - she's turning 12! Sad to not spend it with her, but I know she's having a good time with David, Lucia & Diego and her Erie friends.
