Climbed Monadnock with the family. Actually took 4:30 but I counted it as 2:20 b/c that's what it takes me solo.
On the animated radar last night I saw the two bands, the first bringing showers & the second possible thunderstorms. I also got an account of what it was like on the ground from an acquaintance further west (Pittsburgh). First band was forecast to be in Jaffrey 7am-noon. And the second starting 4 pm. We were scheduled to be hiking 8am-noon, but I had a really good feeling about the whole adventure.
The weather was just great. No rain. It had rained before we got there. the first half hour we were looking at skies clearing to deep blue. Then it clouded over again. At the top it was chill and blowing like mad. I have a GREAT photo of
David, Dave and Isabel in the summit wind.
We saw March of the Penguins last night, which nicely flavored our toil up the mountain.
