Excellent: a sprint course in the North End on the basic map Ed Despard has produced in advance of his ISSOM map to come. It's a great place for a sprint, and it was really exciting to run it. European flavor.

How about a scholarship program for getting kids to A meets? I've been hearing that the expense of getting to A meets is a problem for many juniors.
For each successful applicant:
OUSA provides $50, provided:
* local club donates $50 or $100
* the junior joins the junior team, which is quite open, but would require commitment to training, getting a local coach/mentor, stating a goal, agreeing to a training plan, maybe recording training on AP
* the junior attends some number of local meets
* the junior helps out at a local meet

Tonight I worked on the ONA article, exchanged email with Eileen B, wrote to Anne WIlkinson (freshman coming from COC, starting at Olin this fall), and created a powerpoint slide deck for the 6th grade teaching team at the new school to try and convince them to do an orienteering program.

A GPR survey was recently conducted at Magazine Beach. It will take some time to interpret the raw data. UMB Master's student Lars Anderas showed GPR findings from a similar survey done in Kingston MA to demonstrate what Magazine Beach analysis might show. This will include artifacts from previous users of the property.

Softball game, maybe the first one I've played in 30 years. It was really fun. I was up to bat 4 times; made it on base twice, and home once. Serious adrenaline action. Much better workout than the 1 minute might suggest. Got to see a bunch of friends in the bluegrass world.

Went to see Jesus Christ Superstar put on by Cambridge kids employed by the Mayor's summer youth employment program.
It was a Lace Campbell production, and fantastic as usual. The theater in Cambridge schools is pretty phenomenal. No surprise that Damon & Affleck developed here.
When I was a kid I listened to the JCS album a lot.
