road bike 1:39:06 [3] 25.53 mi (15.5 mph) +346m

Survived the first week of work in SF. The company and all the people are cool, and the project I'm on is a really small prototype team that's trying out tons of new (new to me, to the company, and to the industry) ideas for a new game. It's working with stuff I'm interested in, and good at, so I think it'll be really fun. I spent all week down there trying to hate it (because job) but I just can't. I'm working from home most of the time, but should be down in SF for a bit every month or so.

Found a bunch of emptyish blocks and ran figure eights around them. It was everything I was hoping for and nothing more.

run 15:00 [3] 1.5 mi (10:00 / mi)

In SF all week for the new job. After catching up on the not much sleep from fri-mon night, I started to get antsy today, so I ran for a bit on the treadmill at the hotel. It squeaked a lot. Also the ceiling wasn't too high, so me on the treadmill hit my head just a bit every stride. I pushed the ceiling tile up and to the side, but there was still a light fixture on one side, so I had to run bent over and leaning a little. All in all not a very satisfying athletic experience. I might try outside tomorrow and jog randomly between some traffic lights, but I'm not too excited that that will be much more fun.

run 3:36:35 [3] 9.28 mi (23:20 / mi) +1265m 16:24 / mi

Sunday wedding breakfast was at 8:30, but gotta get a 14er, so that means night hike! Up at 3, on the trail by 3:30. Easy trail jog for the first two miles, then it got steeper so I backed off to a steady hike for the second two. Scrambley 2nd class ridgeline up to the summit. Started to feel the altitude only around 13k, but never really that bad.

The internet told me that fast people did it in 3 hrs up, so I planned on that to get to the top for sunrise. Except I did it in 2, so when I got to the top it was still dark and cold. Hung out in a hole for half an hour until the horizon started to lighten and I was tired of shivering, then headed down without the headlamp. Easy hour jog back down. Have some ok phone pics once I find a laptop.
