Western Canadian Champs middle. Not the bestest run ever, with a couple solid mistakes where stuff just didn't make sense. Woods were pretty nice though, except for the ground which is that springy moss stuff, which isn't so good for my poor busted knee.

quickroute, after much fiddling. something doesn't line up somewhere.

hiking 1:00:00 [1] 6.0 mi (10:00 / mi) +500m 7:57 / mi

Hike up Sheep Creek, looking for bighorn sheep, or grizzly bears, or ideally grizzly bears eating bighorn sheep. Sadly we saw none of the above. It wasn't raining though, and we were only in the clouds for the top end of it.

Trail run with Carol in the rain in Kluane National Park, a couple hours west of Whitehorse along the road to alaska. Lots of mosquitos, not so many bears. boo.

Note

I hate, in the following order: United, LAX, and Air Canada.

Also the security lady at LAX that wouldn't let me through because my ticket says Greg and my passport says Gregory. Because it's a big leap between the two. Though apparently a AAA card is now an acceptable form of ID.

Note

and for my next trick, I fly to Yukon, via RNO-SFO-LAX-YVR-YXY, which translates to West, South, North, North. something seems inefficient here.

copenhagen gate lady: "I'm sorry Mr. Walker, there seems to be a problem with your boarding pass, one moment please."
me: "oh. sweet."
gate lady: "its looks ok, you just have a new seat."
me: "isn't row 4 awfully close to the front of a 767?"
gate lady: "yes, you were automatically upgraded to business class."
me: "oh. sweet."

mtn bike 1:39:25 [3] 16.44 mi (9.9 mph) +371m

Home sweet home. For a couple days anyway. I realized on the flights back yesterday that when I was in LA I used to spend the whole trip home thinking about the next adventure. Now I just think about going home. Because home is awesome.
