course around Prosser on the usgs topo. with gaiters on this place is actually super fun. its almost completely melted out by now, so about time to start mapping it for real. sunny and cold (30s), but snowing a little, just enough to make it awesome.

Note

Rest day. My back felt pretty tired today after the ride yesterday, and I usually seem to hurt it during the first couple weeks of bike season each year, so I figure I'll take it easy and not break on day two. Besides, it's snowing. A lot.

road bike 1:53:12 intensity: (6:39 @0) + (15:19 @1) + (37:14 @2) + (51:34 @3) + (2:26 @4) 30.75 mi (16.3 mph) +411m

felt like going for a bike ride, and the road bike had much rounder wheels than then mountain bike, so I cleaned it up and did a tour of the neighborhood. which turned into two laps around the lake and a trip over to prosser, but I still felt pretty good except for the end. on a related note, I live at the top of a really big hill.

run 1:04:36 intensity: (6 @1) + (3 @2) + (10:50 @3) + (52:30 @4) + (1:07 @5) 7.29 mi (8:52 / mi) +119m 8:26 / mi

late trail run through Prosser with Donatas, Jack and Bella. Nice weather until the sun went down behind the ridge, then it got friggin freezing asap.

started up at the high end on Donner Ridge this morning, everything was frozen solid. a little wandering through the trees, and a few good sections of turns down some of the open snowfields. the suncups weren't bad at all, maybe its all wind smoothed up there. somebody should map that whole shoulder, you could have a pretty sweet sprint race up there (if it wasn't at 7500')

Note

So I managed to take 6gb of pictures at the sprint on Saturday (eddie also took a bunch while I was running). here's a few of them.

really at this point I'm just skiing to piss off alex. though it was a very nice morning for a ski. a couple inches of fluff last night covered up the pine needles, but also meant we didn't get a hard freeze so it was a little soft and the wax left much to be desired. hit a stealthy patch of rocks on the way down, tried to bail into a nice soft snowbank, but that just turned out to be more stealthy rocks.

TT Long. So I didn't really have too much fun today. I thought almost all the terrain sucked, and I bonked well before the finish. Thought I had brought some GUs in the car, but they were in the other backpack at the hotel, and I had last start so everybody to mooch off of was already out.
