Dayhike from Mineral King in Sequoia. On the trail through a high grass valley up to
Farewell Gap, then up some crappy softball sized scree to
Vandever Mt (windy), back down and across more crappy scree to
Bullfrog Lakes (in the right notch), up the west ridge of
Florence (refrigerator sized scree), down the
other side to Franklin Pass, and back down the trail. Sunny but cold, I did most of it in a pile jacket. Saw a million marmot, a zillion deer, a pair of coyotes, parts of a plane?, and had
this guy pop his head out about 15 feet from the trail. about 12 hours car to car.
