ski down hills (downhill) 2:00:00 [2]

A solid day of downhill at Park City. Nice packed base with a couple inches of fluff over top. Almost no grooming. It was snowing pretty hard all day, so by the end of the day some of the less traveled trails had some awesomely huge soft bumps. 7 hours (no lunch)

skate ski 50:00 [3] 14.0 km (3:34 / km)

skate ski 1:25:00 [3] 23.0 km (3:42 / km)

skate ski 1:10:00 [3] 20.0 km (3:30 / km)

went back to Soldier Hollow. They actually groomed today, so conditions were pretty good. Nice and rolling terrain, so this was all actually a lot easier than it looks. Took some solid naps in between, and wasn't too tired at the end.

skate ski 1:15:00 [3] 18.0 km (4:10 / km)

At soldier hollow in UT. For an olympic center this place is pretty ghetto. The place was deserted, they don't have a wax room, and they got 3" of snow last night but didn't bother to groom it. Maybe its off season? Trails were pretty sweet though, its all rolling switchbacks on a big treeless hillside. The climbs are just as brutal as they look on TV. This would be a really cool place for a race since you can see the entire course all the time.

hiking 3:00:00 [1] 8.0 mi (22:30 / mi)

I was coming into this thinking that Zion was just one big canyon you could drive into and look at the pretty colored walls. Turns out there are some pretty sick hikes too. Thats the trail where the chains are. You can't see the other side to the right of that tree, but it looks a lot like this side. Time to change my pants.

hiking 1:00:00 [1] 4.0 mi (15:00 / mi)

After lunch, drove up to Bryce canyon, and took a quick hike down through Queen's Garden. Lots of red hoodoos. By the time I was back up to the rim, it was snowing like crazy and you couldn't really see much. Fortunately I'm crashing in a motel tonight. This place is swanky, $50 goes a lot further here than it does in CA.

hiking 1:00:00 [1] 5.0 mi (12:00 / mi)

A few random short dayhikes in Zion national park. Once the sun went down it got down to 20 degrees almost instantly. The campsite (and really the entire park) was totally empty all day.

roller ski 1:25:00 [4] 25.2 km (3:22 / km)
shoes: v2s #1

8 laps around the San V hill. First was at 7:30, the rest were all about 5:30. Was alternating V1 poling sides, 2 laps right, 2 left, 2R, 2L. I got pretty tired towards the end, but the times didn't really slow down, which I guess is a good thing.
