Run with Carol around the lower perimeter loop of TD, which sneaks along between people's backyards and the National Forest boundary. Also tried out one of the new lemonade roctane gu's from the case I won the other day, which are in fact delicious.

Kayak around donner lake with carol. Fairly windy out, but nice and warm so it wasn't chilly even with all the water and waves flying everywhere.

Around the valley, then down to the bottom end where the beavers have turned about 100m of trail into a bottomless swamp. Found a pretty easy crossing downstream though.

Run up JPs trail from donner lake, then wandering around a bit back down coldstream canyon, checking out its map-worthiness. A little bit rainy and hail-y, but for the most part pleasant. Hail storm of doom started about half an hour after I finished.

Hiking Round Top mt from Carson Pass down south of the lake. Started with Lori and Sam and Holly and Bryan, plus a couple inches of new snow from last night that did a fairly good job of hiding the trail in most places. Got to the lake and had lunch, then got a bit up from there before Lori's broken bits started hurting too much, so the four of them turned around and Carol and I kept going to the top. Easy snowshoeing up to the main ridgeline saddle, then a dodgy steep snowy part followed by some open rocky stuff got us to the false summit. Then along the ridgetop for not very far through varying amounts of waist deep snow drifts and dodgy exposure before we tried a couple ways up the true summit block. All the summer routes were loose snow covered and muddy impassable, so we got about 15 feet from the top on a wet fourth class cliff before we decided it was stupid and bailed. Found an easier route down the steep snowy part (through a waist deep snow chute instead of two inch icy crust), and then cruised back down to the car. Worthy adventure.
The snow line looked like it was right around house level, so I went up. It was pretty nice, the drizzle at home turned to snow pretty quickly, and without much wind it was almost pleasant. Went all the way to the top, then back down the powerlines into the rain.

Up the mountain a bit. A little chilly, and crazy windy out - like the angry windy where you can't hear anything and it blows the air out of your lungs.

Long run up the mountain to Drifter, then along the ridge to Hawk's Peak, then down the powerlines through the ski area. Lots of people up on top, and quite a nice morning out.
