Long blue at Boggs. Not too exciting of a run. Felt tired and maybe sick, and about halfway through my good knee started hurting a lot (I whacked it pretty hard on the mtb Friday). A lot of boring legs, and a bunch of crappy green, and not really much route choice. Don't think I made any mistakes though.

Run down the creek and around TD a bit. This one actually felt pretty good for a change, not really faster, but my legs felt solid and I didn't have to sissy around on the downhills as much as the last few weeks.

Hike up Mt Tallac in south lake. Almost all melted out for the first half, then patchy snow up to the top. Lots of critters on top, though I didn't hang around too long since right when I got there it got windy and started snowing a lot. Also saw a pika, but he disappeared pretty fast.

Group run with Carol and the new Truckee Running Club, but they were only planning on going a couple miles, so I started from the top of TD and ran down to meet them. Saw a little brown patch dive into some bushes on the side of the trail on the way down the powerlines, thought it was a fox or a coyote and went over to see if I could see it in there. Nope, big old bear. He bolted, I sang songs all the way down the hill.

10mila! Leg 7, morning. Just light enough at the start that I didn't bring the headlamp. Mostly by myself for the first half, then consolidated into a loose pack for parts of the second half (I think most were leg 8, which I was forked with). Got a little confused coming into 14 when things didn't look right, stopped and replayed everything to relocate a bit, maybe lost a minute. Then at the very end (21) I found the forked control and ran right past mine without seeing the control (I think it was below me under a cliff), got to the next control and doubled back. Got passes by the pack there, which I assume is where I dropped my couple places.

quickroute

Solid run, I was happy. And CSU relays are awesome.

Made it to Uppsala, then we ran over to NĂ¥sten from home. Had a map with a course on it, but most of the controls were far away. So I ran a few but mostly just read things off the map. Made some sense, not too much, but by the end I was doing legit navigation on actual mapped features.
